At Frieda believe in the power of human touch.
Each pair of our Buffalo horn eyewear is handcrafted with care and precision.
This process ensures that every frame is a masterpiece, reflecting our commitment to perfection and your unique style.

"Eyewear is the language I grew up speaking. For generations, my family has made glasses by hand, and as a child I was always in the workshop—watching, learning, and eventually joining in.
I studied optometry in Germany, then built my career on Park Avenue, where I opened and led our Friedrich’s Optik flagship in New York City and grew into the role of CEO.
When the world paused in 2020, I moved full-time to Roxbury, Connecticut. With our German workshops temporarily quiet, I went back to my roots and began making again—first in my basement, then in a dedicated workshop in Washington Depot.
Frieda is the result: horn frames crafted in Connecticut with the same old-world standards I was raised with. Now, for the first time, we’re welcoming a small number of independent opticals to carry the collection—partners who believe, as we do, in true craftsmanship and independence."

"Brigitte and I first met through mutual friends and quickly connected over our shared love of training and racing triathlons.
Living just minutes from the Frieda workshop, I began lending a hand whenever the workshop needed support. With 13 years of experience as a CNC machinist—programming, setup, and precision production—I was immediately drawn to the level of craftsmanship and the uncompromising standards behind the frames.
Before long, Brigitte encouraged me to make it official, and I joined the company full-time."
